Attracting and Keeping Customers

Customers determine the future of every company. Customers grow businesses through their consistent patronage. When a customer goes, businesses feel the impact. The most important person in your organisation is your customer. He determines whether your organisation will thrive or die.

That is why large corporations are always searching for new strategies to attract and keep customers in their numbers. That is why Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Apple Inc., Samsung, Pizza Hut, KFC, McDonald’s, Cold Stone, Nestle, Cadbury and other large corporations consistently penetrate new markets.

The truth is that your company cannot grow beyond the number of customers you have. You cannot grow a large corporation with one thousand customers. If your profit per product is N500, and you have 10 customers, your profit will never exceed N5,000.

Just imagine convincing 10,000 customers to buy the same product; your profit will increase to N50 million. If you succeed in attracting one million customers; your profit will rise to N500 million!

So, your number one assignment as a business owner is to consistently increase your customer base. Hotel owners should increase the number of guests that sleeps in their hotels every night. School owners should increase the number of students or pupils that attend their schools.

Business owners should increase the number of people that buys their products or pay for their services daily, weekly, monthly and annually. Alibaba Group is growing exponentially because it has over 700 million customers.
